Ex-DGP’s Son Death: Explosive Video Alleges Father’s Affair, Family Murder Plot

By Oct 22, 2025

The son of former Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa, Akeel Akhtar, died in Panchkula. While his family cited a drug overdose, a posthumous 16-minute video recorded by Akeel alleges his father had an affair with his wife and accuses his mother and sister of plotting his murder. A police case against the prominent family now probes the suspicious death.

Panchkula, India – A high-profile tragedy involving the son of former Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Mohammad Mustafa has taken a dramatic turn following the emergence of an explosive video. Akeel Akhtar (35), found dead at his Panchkula residence, is at the center of a deepening investigation after a 16-minute self-recorded video surfaced, making grave allegations against his prominent family.

Initially, Akeel’s family attributed his death to a drug overdose. However, the video, recorded on August 27, and a subsequent complaint by neighbor Shamshuddin Chaudhary, cast serious doubt on this claim, suggesting foul play. In the video, Akeel makes startling accusations, alleging his father, Mohammad Mustafa, had an illicit relationship with his wife. He further claimed that his mother, former minister Razia Sultana, and his sister were involved in a conspiracy either to murder him or falsely implicate him.

Akhtar detailed a history of trauma since his 2018 marriage, stating he discovered the alleged affair that year and subsequently overheard his mother and sister planning against him. He also spoke of being falsely detained, sent to rehabilitation, deprived of business income, and subjected to mental harassment, physical abuse, and threats of false legal cases.

Authorities have registered a case under Sections 103(1) and 61 BNS against Mohammad Mustafa, Razia Sultana, their daughter, and daughter-in-law. The neighbour’s complaint urged a comprehensive investigation, including social media posts, digital evidence, call records, and the post-mortem report, to ensure justice in what has become a deeply disturbing family saga.
