The operation commenced after Chakand Police Station received a confidential tip-off regarding the presence of arms dealers near Naugarh More, reportedly involved in an illegal transaction. A swift and decisive response by the police team led to the apprehension of two individuals, later identified as Rajiv Kumar, a resident of Sheikhpura village, and Sonu Alam alias Sonu Khan from Samaspur village. Upon their arrest, authorities recovered a newly manufactured country-made pistol and two mobile phones, found concealed beneath the seat of their motorcycle.
Law and Order DSP Raviprakash Singh confirmed that the interrogation of the arrested suspects proved crucial. Based on their disclosures, a specialized police team promptly raided Sheikhpura village within the Bela Ganj police station jurisdiction. The raid culminated in the discovery of a clandestine mini gun factory, equipped with a substantial cache of tools, raw materials, and components used for manufacturing illicit firearms. In addition to the manufacturing setup, another country-made pistol, the motorcycle used by the traffickers, and their mobile phones were seized from the site.
Both accused have been formally charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
