The radiant festival of Diwali, a beacon of hope and prosperity, is traditionally celebrated on Kartik Amavasya. At its heart lies the sacred worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, a ritual believed to attract wealth, wisdom, and remove obstacles, paving the way for a life filled with joy and abundance. Performing this puja during the auspicious ‘Shubh Muhurat’ is considered paramount for maximizing its spiritual benefits.
This Diwali, the auspicious Lakshmi-Ganesh Puja Muhurat is observed from **7:08 PM to 8:18 PM**. Devotees are encouraged to utilize this precise window to conduct their prayers and invoke divine blessings.
**Step-by-Step Puja Vidhi:**
1. **Preparation:** Begin by thoroughly cleaning your puja area. Sprinkle Gangaajal for purification and set up a clean wooden chauki (stool). Cover it with a fresh red cloth, symbolizing auspiciousness.
2. **Deity Placement & Kalash Sthapana:** Place the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on the chauki. Establish a kalash (pot) by tying a sacred thread (mouli) around it and adorning it with mango leaves. Fill the kalash with water, betel nut, durva grass, rice grains (akshat), and a coin. Crown it with a coconut wrapped in a red cloth.
3. **Worship & Offerings:** Gently bathe the deities with Gangaajal. Light a ghee lamp, symbolizing purity and knowledge. Offer fresh clothes, lotus or rose flowers, fragrant incense (agarbatti), and apply tilak (vermilion mark) to both deities, along with akshat.
4. **Bhoga & Aarti:** Offer Kesar Kheer to Goddess Lakshmi and laddus or other sweets to Lord Ganesha. Conclude the puja by performing the sacred Aarti with your family, singing praises to the deities, and distributing the blessed prasad among everyone present. This devotion-filled ritual is a pathway to inviting immense positivity and prosperity into your home.
