On Police Memorial Day in Lucknow, the sacrifices of martyred police personnel were reverently remembered. Veeranganas, the widows of fallen heroes, shared their profound grief and immense pride, expressing deep gratitude for the government’s unwavering support. Their resolve to see their children follow in their fathers’ courageous footsteps underscored a powerful message of enduring duty and honor.
Lucknow reverently observed Police Memorial Day, a poignant occasion dedicated to honoring the supreme sacrifice of police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The event, held at the Lucknow Police Line, saw senior officials and dignitaries, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, pay tribute to the fallen heroes and extend heartfelt support to their families.
The day was marked by emotional testimonials from the Veeranganas, the courageous widows of martyred officers. Among them was Ayushi, wife of Constable Saurabh, whose tears flowed freely as CM Adityanath offered condolences and assured government backing. Constable Saurabh was martyred in 2020 during an operation against a wanted criminal in Ghaziabad. Ayushi, though heartbroken, expressed immense pride in her husband’s unwavering commitment, stating her desire for their child to emulate his father’s dedication.
Similarly, Munesh Devi, widow of STF Inspector Sunil Kumar, shared her family’s resolve. Inspector Kumar valiantly engaged armed criminals in Shamli, neutralizing four before succumbing to his injuries in January. Munesh Devi highlighted the government’s recognition of his sacrifice as their greatest award, affirming her commitment to guiding her son, Mohit, towards a similar path of service. Priyanka Singh, widow of Head Constable Durgesh Kumar Singh, also recounted her husband’s fearless sacrifice in an anti-cow smuggling drive in Jaunpur, where he was fatally run over. She echoed the sentiment that government support was paramount.
These powerful narratives underscored a collective message: the sacrifices of these brave men are not in vain. Their families, while grappling with irreplaceable loss, draw strength from the nation’s respect and the government’s unwavering commitment, ensuring that the legacy of duty, courage, and honor continues to inspire future generations in the service of the nation.
