Gaya, Bihar – A pall of gloom has descended upon Gaya following the mysterious death of two brothers, one of whom was a recipient of the esteemed President’s Award. Vishal Kumar, honored for his achievements, and his maternal cousin Yashraj, both residents of Gewal Bigha in the Rampur police station area, were found deceased in a drain near Naily, under the Magadh Medical police station jurisdiction, late Sunday night. Police have retrieved the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination to the Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College.

The discovery has sparked outrage among the victims’ family members, who vehemently allege that the two young men were murdered and their bodies subsequently dumped. In protest, relatives blocked roads near Sikariya Mor in the Rampur area, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible. The agitated crowd led to a significant police deployment from Rampur, Medical, and other local stations, who are currently attempting to pacify the protestors and restore order.

While Magadh Medical College Station House Officer Krishna Paswan initially suggested a road accident as a possible cause, he acknowledged the family’s strong allegations of foul play. “The true cause of death will only be ascertained after the post-mortem report is received,” Paswan stated. Local residents have added another layer of suspicion, reporting that a gathering or party had taken place at the very location where the bodies were discovered, shortly before the incident.

As the investigation unfolds, the area around Sikariya Mor remains heavily policed, resembling a cantonment, as authorities strive to maintain peace.
