Bihar Election 2025: Upendra Kushwaha Declares Nitish Kumar as NDA’s CM Face, Slams Mahagathbandhan

By Oct 22, 2025

Amidst intense political fervor for Bihar Election 2025, RLM President Upendra Kushwaha has definitively named Nitish Kumar as the NDA’s Chief Ministerial face. Kushwaha confirmed the elections will be fought under Kumar’s leadership, predicting victory and his continued tenure as CM. He also sharply criticized the Mahagathbandhan, branding it a self-serving alliance detached from public welfare, destined for electoral failure.

The political landscape in Bihar is heating up as parties intensify preparations for the crucial 2025 Assembly elections. Speculation surrounding the NDA’s Chief Ministerial candidate has been a central point of discussion, especially following recent remarks from Union Home Minister Amit Shah that further fueled the debate. Bringing much-needed clarity to the matter, Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) National President Upendra Kushwaha has unequivocally affirmed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will lead the NDA into the upcoming polls.

Addressing reporters in Patna, Kushwaha stated, “Nitish Kumar ji is our CM face. The elections in Bihar are being contested under the leadership of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. We will win the elections and the government will take oath under his leadership.” This definitive declaration puts to rest any earlier ambiguities or discussions about the CM face being decided post-election, firmly establishing Kumar as the alliance’s chosen leader.

Beyond clarifying the NDA’s leadership, Kushwaha launched a scathing critique of the opposition Mahagathbandhan. He lambasted the alliance as a “coalition of parties united by self-interest,” asserting their detachment from public welfare and predicting a dismal electoral performance. Kushwaha accused the opposition of attempting to mislead the public on issues like the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and failing to address genuine ground-level concerns. He further criticized Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s past governance, alleging neglect of Dalit and backward communities during his fifteen-year tenure. Kushwaha emphasized that the electorate has already seen through the Mahagathbandhan’s narratives, signaling a challenging road ahead for the opposition.
