The Samajwadi Party is meticulously crafting its strategy for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, focusing on strengthening its ‘PDA’ (Pichda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) coalition, ensuring electoral integrity through ‘SIR’ (Special Intensive Revision) of voter lists, and eliminating internal factionalism. Buoyed by its 2024 Lok Sabha performance, the party aims to consolidate support from marginalized communities, counter alleged fake voting, and present a united front to challenge the ruling BJP effectively.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has begun laying the groundwork for the high-stakes 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, outlining a multi-pronged strategy aimed at reclaiming power. Central to their plan are three key pillars: bolstering the ‘PDA’ (Pichda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak – Backward, Dalit, Minority) equation, ensuring electoral fairness through a focused ‘SIR’ (Special Intensive Revision) of voter lists, and decisively stamping out internal factionalism.

Following its impressive performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where the PDA formula yielded 37 seats in Uttar Pradesh, the SP is confident in extending this alliance to the state polls. The party intends to amplify the prominence of backward and Scheduled Caste leaders, consolidating their support base. Alongside this, the SP plans to vigorously address core public issues such as employment, education, and healthcare, potentially even challenging the BJP’s nationalist narrative with its own issue-based agenda.

A critical focus will be the ‘SIR’ initiative, where the party plans to mobilize a grassroots army of workers. As highlighted by Ghaziabad District President Faisal Hussain, the party will scrutinize electoral rolls, vowing to challenge any deliberate removal of PDA community votes or the inclusion of fraudulent ballots. The SP suspects the ruling party might manipulate voter lists and is preparing to counter this by taking the SIR issue to every street and household.

Furthermore, candidate selection for 2027 will be rigorous. The party is eyeing potential BJP nominees and preparing its own counter-strategies based on caste dynamics, while prioritizing candidates with clean images and strong local appeal.
