Kainchi Dham Shooting: Hotel Owner Booked for Murder After Taxi Driver’s Death

A fatal shooting at Kainchi Dham’s Kirola Restaurant has led to a murder case against the hotel owner, Ramesh Kirola. The brother of the deceased taxi driver, Anand Singh, suspects foul play, prompting police to register an FIR under relevant sections. Authorities have launched an investigation, sending the body for post-mortem, as locals demand swift justice.

In a significant development following the fatal shooting at Kainchi Dham, police have registered a murder case against Ramesh Kirola, owner of the Kirola Restaurant. The action comes after the deceased taxi driver’s brother filed a formal complaint, alleging foul play in the incident that occurred late Friday night.

The tragic event unfolded when Anand Singh, a local taxi driver from Gadkhet, Betalghat, died from a gunshot wound sustained at the hotel. Singh, who had been driving a taxi in Kainchi Dham for two years, also reportedly assisted with restaurant duties, residing in one of its rooms.

His younger brother, Ghanshyam Singh, submitted a complaint to the Bhawali police, expressing strong suspicions that his brother’s death was not accidental but an act of murder, allegedly involving the hotel owner’s licensed revolver. Acting on the complaint, SSI Asif Khan confirmed that a case has been registered against the hotel owner under Section 105 BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita), which corresponds to IPC 302.

Authorities immediately secured the scene, sealing the room and collecting crucial evidence with the help of a forensic team. The body was subsequently sent to Haldwani for post-mortem examination. SP Crime Jagdish Chandra stated that a dedicated investigation team has been formed to thoroughly probe the matter, assuring strict action against those found guilty. State activist Harish Paneru and local residents have also called for a swift and impartial investigation, demanding justice for the victim.
