Upcoming film ‘Ikkis’ has unveiled a striking poster featuring veteran actor Dharmendra, marking his significant return to the silver screen. The film, which stars Agastya Nanda in the lead role, is set to release on December 25. The poster reveals Dharmendra in a powerful avatar, embodying the role of the father of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, played by Nanda.

The caption accompanying the poster eloquently captures the essence of the film: “Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. A stalwart of Indian cinema returns in a role defined by deep emotion and quiet strength. Dharmendra ji’s legacy meets the legacy of a nation’s youngest Param Vir Chakra hero.” This statement highlights the emotional depth and patriotic fervor that the film aims to convey.

The newly released poster features Dharmendra with the poignant tagline, “Woh Ikkis ka tha, Ikkis ka hi rahega.” This phrase, translating to “He was of 21, he will remain of 21,” directly references the age of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal at the time of his supreme sacrifice during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The tagline serves as a powerful tribute to the enduring spirit and indelible memory of the young hero, who remains the youngest recipient of India’s highest military honor, the Param Vir Chakra.

Filmmakers announced the release date on Instagram with a compelling message: “On 25th December, bravery marches into cinemas. Witness the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra hero. #IkkisTrailerOutNow – Link in bio. #Ikkis in cinemas worldwide this Christmas.” This announcement sets a tone of national pride and courage, positioning ‘Ikkis’ as a tribute to India’s valor.

‘Ikkis’ is a Maddock Films production, directed by Sriram Raghavan, known for his critically acclaimed films. The screenplay has been crafted by Sriram Raghavan himself, along with Arijit Biswas and Pooja Ladha Surti. This creative team is recognized for their previous successful collaborations in Indian cinema.

Agastya Nanda, who made his acting debut in 2023 with ‘The Archies,’ takes on the challenging central role of Arun Khetarpal. The film delves into the life and bravery of the young soldier who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra. The ensemble cast also includes notable actors Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher in important supporting roles, promising a compelling cinematic experience.

The film’s narrative promises to bring to life the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of a young Indian hero, resonating with audiences through its blend of historical significance, emotional storytelling, and powerful performances.
