Azamgarh: Agniveer Aspirant Dies, Another Critically Injured in Tragic Training Accident

A tragic incident in Azamgarh saw a young Agniveer aspirant, Irshad (20), die after his bike crashed into a roadside ditch while returning from a training run. His companion, Diwakar (21), was found severely injured and is now in critical condition at a district hospital. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the community.

Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh – A heartbreaking incident has plunged Rewachak village in Azamgarh into mourning after a young man preparing for Agniveer recruitment tragically lost his life, while his friend sustained critical injuries in a road accident. The two aspiring soldiers were on their way back from their daily physical training when their motorcycle veered off the road.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Irshad, and his injured companion as 21-year-old Diwakar, both residents of Rewachak village under the Gambhirpur police station area. The duo, committed to joining the armed forces, regularly embarked on rigorous training runs along the Gambhirpur-Siswara-Martinganj road.

According to reports, their motorcycle lost control near the Bodh Bihar Mod in Gothaw village, Bardah police station area, plunging into a roadside ditch. Diwakar was discovered by local residents and immediately rushed to a private clinic in Nandav. Given his critical condition, he was promptly referred to the district hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment and remains unable to communicate due to his injuries.

Tragically, Irshad’s body lay undiscovered in the ditch until late evening when locals spotted it floating in water. Police, including CO Bhupesh Pandey and SHO Rajiv Kumar Singh, arrived at the scene to retrieve the body. Irshad was subsequently identified by his distraught family. The third of four brothers, his mother Yasmin Bano and other relatives are inconsolable, grappling with the sudden and profound loss.
